You Won’t Be Young Forever! (oh..and happy April Fools’🙌)

HEADS-UP: Incase you’re not aware, it’s April Fools’ Day. Today, everyone is to be considered a prankster!

No, guys… I’m serious. For real…

πŸ˜‚ See? πŸ‘†Be careful, and trust no man! πŸ’ͺ

Some say ;‘It’s April Fools’! Believe nothing, trust no-one, just like any other day. ‘  Well, I’d still take extra precautions today my friend. It’s not just ‘any other day’. Pranksters are seriously on the lose!! 😐😭πŸ˜₯ Ha! πŸ˜‚  All the best steering clear today people. πŸ˜‚

” You won’t be young forever! “ My mum regularly quotes this, and it’s very true. People say that there are no years like your youth years. It’s the time to make memories, find our way through life, and just have fun, right? Well..maybe.. I don’t know, but what I do know is that, you will eventually grow up, and you won’t be ‘young’ anymore. What kind of future will you have built for yourself? Or what kind of memories will you have made? Also, always remember that; Even if it’s a hundred years down the line, you will come to live in the actions of your youth, so don’t be reckless. Instead, be wise.

It gets a lot easier once you realize that you’re not indebted to please anyone, let alone your peers. Live for you, not for others. Be yourself!

Your company, especially in your youth, is everything. Your friends will either make you or break you.

Surround yourself with people who add value into your life.  Your circle is a reflection of who you truly are.

Travel travel travel! I like insisting that, at a young age, nothing is tying you down. Take advantage and travel the world. Like the picture says, traveling will open and broaden your mind. Different situations / experiences will teach you to appreciate the little things in life, and to make an effort in positively impacting the world. Travel the world; Experience everything firsthand without relying on what others say.

Aahh!! Word πŸ‘! This ‘she’s doing it too! ‘  peer pressure type of thing needs to end. A right is a right, even if no-one is doing it, a wrong is a wrong, even if everyone is doing it.  At the end of the day, like it or not, you’re on your own. If you get in trouble, you’ll be on your own. Think twice before you do something because of so-and-so. You’re born alone, and you’ll be buried alone. In the same measure, if you have goals, work on them. It doesn’t matter that nobody else is. You know that you should do it, so  do it.

Listen, it doesn’t hurt to be kind; and you’re never too young to begin helping others. Embrace the spirit of Martha Teresa.  I know her shoes are hard to fit in, but at least try. Even the smallest actions of kindness count. I’ve seen a phrase on the internet saying, spread kindness everywhere you go, like confetti.  Yes!  Spread the love! Good will always come back to you when you least expect!

You know those friends of yours who are so keen on achieving their goals / dreams? The ones who know exactly what they want in life? (Yes.. Those extremely focused / driven ones, yes!) Push yourself onto those. No! You don’t even have to know what you yourself  want right now, but hanging out with such people will open your eyes in ways that will eventually reveal to you what exactly it is that is your strength / passion / desire.

Allow yourself to be challenged mentally. Engage in deep conversations with people who are brighter than you are. No. It’s not a show of weakness (it’s actually pretty smart to do so if you ask me!) Why?  It’ll change your way of thinking. You will manage to sharpen your reasoning and line of thoughts, and thus, you embrace better approaches of dealing with various issues in life. Likewise, don’t look down upon those who are less ‘book-smart’ or generally less brighter than you are.  Instead, challenge them in the same way that others challenge you, you get?  It’s a type of cycle.

Aah well, just emphasizing! :)πŸ˜„be kind! πŸ’ͺ

Alright, we have to stop living in a bubble. It’s gonna pop eventually. Our world is not in the best of places, and we’re facing a number of challenges. Who can change this? Us. You. Me. Us.   We need to step up. Make the effort. Familiarize yourself with the millennium development goals (understand what exactly these problems that are facing the world entail), partake in ‘Save Our Rhinos’  campaigns (let’s stop poaching), conserve water, don’t litter aimlessly (did you know that it contributes to global warming?),  observe the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle)..just do things that positively impact the world. Let’s wake up! Let’s save the world! Every little effort in that direction will eventually pay off πŸ’―!

Ey, believe in, focus on and build your own dreams. Otherwise, someone else will hire you to build their own.

Train yourself to see the beauty in everything. There’s always something to be grateful for, however small it may seem. Learn to be more thankful! Remember, it’s the little things in life.

You were put on this earth for a purpose. If you want to discover that purpose, then seek the Creator. Seek the Lord!

I’ve already mentioned this, yes? Explore the world. Expose and awaken your mind. Embrace a little wanderlust.  Travel!! Make those memories that money could never buy.

The good thing about being young is, being young.  You have a little more time to try things out and discover yourself. Now is the time to try playing a music instrument and realize that you hate it, to try joining a sport and realize that you love your nails too much, to dye your hair white and realize that you look terrible, to learn to do new things.. Now is the time, so that when you’re old, you won’t have any doubts or regrets about what you’re doing, because deep down inside, you know you did try everything else.

For the third time, travel! Travel! Travel!

You can waste all the time of your youth doing all the wrong things, but keep in mind that, you’ll never get that time back. Time wasted is never recovered.  Likewise, even as you’re chasing after your dreams, have time to treasure everything in the moment. Whether it’s as big as spending time with family, or as small as giving your pet a bath πŸ›€πŸ˜…, value everything in the moment. One day, when you’re older, I hope that you’ll not look back and wish that you had done things differently.

That πŸ‘† is just too deep! πŸ‘. I literally have nothing to add to it. Read it, reread it, and think about it!

Lastly, don’t forget to πŸ‘‡ :

I wish you a lovely weekend!! πŸ’•:) and Happy April Fools’ Day!! πŸ™Œ

  1. I really love your message in this post – so true!! Sometimes I worry (especially this semester since I’m graduating college and it’ll be the first year I am not in school) so much about what I’m suppose to be doing and then I have to relax and remind myself ‘hey, chill, you’re only 21. Just have fun!’ Love that Ed Sheeran quote ❀
